Natural Mulch

A natural, untreated wood mulch that does the quiet work in a garden. Spread over a bed, it shades the soil so moisture stays where the roots are, keeps weed seeds from getting the light they need to germinate, and evens out the temperature swings that stress shallow rooted plants.

Because there are no dyes or additives, it weathers to a soft natural grey and breaks down slowly into the soil, adding organic matter as it goes. It suits perennial beds, shrub borders, the ground around trees, and pathway edges.

Lay it two to three inches deep for good weed suppression, and keep it pulled back a few inches from trunks and stems so the bark can breathe.
